As the Chairman of IDFS Group, he is a leading figure in the Indian travel retail scene having played a pioneering role in re-defining both the airport duty-free and in-flight duty-free market dynamics in India. He was instrumental in the success of the Delhi duty-free operations in partnership with GMR group and AER Rianta. IDFS Group also operates the largest WHSmith master franchise operation for WHSmith PLC, one of the UK’s leading retail groups, in the Indian and UAE markets and IDFS works exclusively in retailing and promoting luxury brands including P&G Prestige, L’Oréal Luxe, La Prairie, etc., in India.
In a strategic tie-up with IHG, Deepak set up a 265 room Holiday Inn, New Delhi International Airport. The hotel commenced operations in 2014.
He founded Advantage India an NGO more than 2 decades ago, undertaking a variety of CSR activities in the areas of Healthcare, Education, Livelihood etc. across India as community outreach programs for global corporates.
